YASMINE HADNI

Born in 1992 in Rabat

 

Yasmine Hadni studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art Villa Arson in Nice, then earned a master's degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is primarily a painter, while also exploring other forms of expression including video, drawing, sound and printmaking. Her works demonstrate technical diversity, and have been shown at Kulte Center for Contemporary Art & Editions in Rabat. Both autobiographical and political in nature, her artistic process deconstructs childhood memories, bearing witness to the social mechanisms of a traditional Moroccan family. The societal paradoxes represented in her art can be understood through the lens of a child’s world that is falsely innocent.

Yasmine Hadni étudie d’abord à l'École Nationale Supérieure d'Art Villa Arson de Nice avant de décrocher son master à la School Of The Art Institute of Chicago. L’artiste se spécialise dans la peinture mais s’imprègne d’autres formes d’expression comme la vidéo, le dessin, le son ou la gravure. Ses œuvres, présentées notamment à Kulte Center for Contemporary Art & Editions, révèlent une grande diversité technique. Son travail, autobiographique et politique, déconstruit ses souvenirs d’enfance et témoigne des mécanismes sociaux d’une famille traditionnelle marocaine. Les paradoxes de la société représentés dans son œuvre se comprennent à travers la démonstration d’un monde enfantin faussement innocent.
